After starting the season from the bottom of the English Premier League standings, Arsenal is gradually and surely climbing their way to the top.
The Gunners romped to a 2-0 win away to Leicester City in Saturday’s early kickoff, vaulting them to fifth place for the time being.
The Gunners won their fifth league match in ten this season, thanks to first-half goals from Gabriel and Emile Smith-Rowe, as well as a strong contribution from Bukayo Saka.
Saka, who was making his 100th appearance for Arsenal in all competitions on Saturday, was a handful for the Foxes.
While Saka contributed to Arsenal’s goals, Aaron Ramsdale received more credit for his outstanding effort between the posts for the visitors.
In Saturday’s game against Leicester, Ramsdale made probably the save of the season when he saved James Maddison’s free-kick.
Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho, making his fourth start of the season, nearly reached the back of the net with a long-range attempt in the 27th minute, but Ramsdale produced a world-class save to tip the ball around the far post.
Aside from the two instances highlighted, Ramsdale, a summer acquisition from Sheffield United, had a couple of more spectacular moments as Arsenal not only won the game but also kept a clean sheet.
At half-time, Iheanacho was replaced by Ademola Lookman, however Wilfred Ndidi, who was fit enough to be included in the Foxes’ matchday squad, did not make an appearance from the bench.
