Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the recently concluded election, and Datti Baba-Ahmed, his running mate, have been charged with overheating the political climate and agitating the populace with their words and utterances over the election’s results, according to a coalition of Arewa Elders.
The Arewa elders stated that the recent demand that the President-Elect Bola Tinubu not be sworn in, expressed by Labour Party vice presidential candidate Datti- Ahmed, tantamount to displaying “Anti Democratic” tendencies that could lead to civil disobedience.

At the conclusion of their meeting in Kaduna state, the group made its position clear in a communique that was read by the coalition’s chairman, Suleiman Jere. In it, they also urged security forces to detain anyone who supported an interim administration over Bola Tinubu’s inauguration as president on May 29.
The Arewa Elders stated that Tinubu must be sworn in as the next President of Nigeria on May 29th, asserting that Interim government has no place in the country’s constitution, despite the fact that the presidential election has already taken place and the winner was chosen by popular vote.
