Members of the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) have denied claims that they had endorsed Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the party’s consensus presidential candidate.
Recall that the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdulahi Adamu, named Lawan as the party’s consensus candidate during a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) convened at the lady Secretariat on Monday.
However, Mr. Suleiman Argungun, the party’s National Organising Secretary, told journalists at the party secretariat following the NWC meeting that the question of consensus was never considered.
He emphasised that Adamu had merely provided them with the information and that they had yet to discuss it.
