Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, candidate of the Young Progressives Congress, has conceded defeat to Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance following his victory in the November 6 Anambra governorship election.
Ubah’s congratulatory message came few hours after Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, who came second in the election, congratulated Soludo for his victory.
As of the time of filing this report, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Andy Uba, who came third in the election, has yet to publicly acknowledge Soludo’s victory.
In his congratulatory message, YPP’s Ubah referenced Ecclesiastes 3:1 in the Holy Bible which reads “for everything there is a season”.
The Anambra South Senator said he had called Soludo to congratulate him on his declaration as the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“I have just called the newly elected Governor of our dear State; Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo to congratulate him on his victory at the just-concluded November 6, 2021 Anambra Governorship poll.
“To everything there is a season, so the Holy Bible says. It is with a heart full of gratitude and submission to the will of God that I address you all today having enjoyed the unique privilege of earning your support to seek the Governorship office of our dear State Anambra,” he said.
