A member of the unidentified gunman gang terrorizing Anamabra State admitted that since joining the group, he had already killed four people, including two police officers and two civilians.
Security personnel detained the gang’s other members as well as the gunman known only as “50” within a woodland near Ukpor in the state’s Nnewi South local government region.
Security personnel had attacked the camp on Friday, taking down the gunmen’s camp and arresting several of them. Arms and ammunition, police and military uniforms, a casket with charms, and numerous substances are among the items seized during the operation.
He claimed that despite several deaths inside the camp, including those whose relatives had already paid a ransom, he had only executed four people.
The hoodlum claimed that before their camp was destroyed, the final person he killed was at the instruction of their boss, who told him to kill the man because he was a saboteur.
He claimed that the late Double Lion, who was just assassinated in Ihiala, and their boss Ezemuo, who is still at large, were responsible for the majority of the murders.
He said: “Some of the people we killed was because they were accused of monitoring us and acting as informants. The two policemen I killed were at Ozubulu.
“Our commander, Ezemuo, is from Imo State has run away, while Virus who is the second in command has escaped to Lagos and his house at Ozubulu burnt down”.
