Akinwunmi Ambode, a former governor of Lagos State, will meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Recalls that on June 29, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted a state reception for Tinubu at which the two men—both former governors of Lagos State—met.
I’m pleased to see Ambode, Tinubu said in a statement after Ambode arrived. I’m glad to see Ambode. Thank you Akin!” during the meeting.
The meeting in the Presidential Villa, according to Western Post, is thought to be the two men’s final reconciliation after their alleged falling out over Ambode’s inability to secure a second-term ticket in 2019.

Ambode is apparently being considered by Tinubu for a position in his administration, and it was learned that the Friday meeting will serve as a forum for wrapping up the subject.
Ambode, who was the governor of Lagos at the time, lost the All Progressives Congress’s nomination to Sanwo-Olu in a statewide direct primary poll.
While Tinubu publicly stated he had nothing against Ambode because the party members had chosen to reject him, many thought the former governor’s failure to secure the APC nomination was due to his falling out with his former political godfather and mentor.
