To sustain harmonious relationship among ethnic groups, tribes and general public, any form of allegations that can instigate violence and breakdown of law and order should not be encourage to the public hearing in the Country.
This was the position of the National President of Oodua People’s Congress Reform, (OPCR), Comrade Dare Adesope while briefing newsmen on the position of the group on the allegation making round that the Director of Muslim Right Concern, MURIC, Prof. Ishaq Akintola received the sum of N100million from a terrorist group ISWAP and Boko Haram.
Adesope who was represented by the Lagos State Governor of OPCR, Comrade Samson Balogun said that ” it is a known fact that MURIC works in line with their moto which says Dialogue and not Violence, because of this they cannot be connected with Boko Haram.
“Some people want to give them a bad name so as to crucify them. I am saying authoritatively that this allegation is completely false and should not be believed by anybody. If any group or individual can substantiate this allegation with fact, they should come up with it.
“I want to implore any individual or group that before coming into the public space to levy allegation against someone, you should have done proper investigation and hold your fact.
Adesope who described the allegation as “baseless and pure conspiracy to tarnish the image of the great Islamic organization and the director.”
“We are all fighting a common cause be it an Islamic, a Christian or Traditional Organization, in as much as we are descendants of Oduduwa”.
“We want to implore every person in the position of authority to always ensure they verify whatever they will say in the public. especially what has to do with life or image of a person”, he said.
