Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has won the governorship primary election held on Monday 20th July, 2020.
Akeredolu polled 2,725 to become the candidate of the party, Olusola Oke came second with 262 votes while lsaacs Kekemeke came a distant third with 19 votes.
Over 3,127 delegates voted in the election which commenced by 2pm and ended by 820pm. Akeredolu led in all the 18 council areas of the state.
The primary, which was held at the Ondo State International Cultural and Event Centre, started exactly 2:00 pm on Monday and ended 1:00 am Tuesday. Accreditation commenced 11:00 am.
No violence was recorded throughout the 14-hour voting exercise.
In his acceptance speech, Akeredolu said he could not have had it better as the victory was handed to him on his birthday.
