After reportedly defiling seven female students at the school near Tanke in the Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State, the principal of Hassanat Islamic College, known only as Prosper, has disappeared.
Prosper, who had allegedly been defiling the students for some time, frequently threatened them with expulsion by using his position as the school’s headmaster.
One of the students, traumatised by the unlawful act and unable to handle the principal’s behaviour, confided in a teacher at the school.
The instructor and other educators at the school launched an inquiry in an effort to gather proof connecting Prosper to the murder. They were successful in persuading other impacted students to share their stories with him.
The voice notes and pornographic WhatsApp messages that Prosper sent to these children were collected throughout the inquiry, which took place between April and July 2022.
“You are the sweetest lady I have ever go down and suck,” Prosper stated in several of the WhatsApp conversations with the students. How did you feel when I stuck my tongue inside of you? I know you’re sick of being a virgin, so let’s f**k tomorrow morning, darling.”
One of the instructors who spoke with our correspondent claimed that an inquiry showed that the principal is also suspected of carrying out the crime at the home of one of the victims’ parents.
“We learned when one of the female pupils opened out to one of us in the first week of April,” the teacher stated. We were aware that young children shouldn’t be exposed to such sexual acts.
“But to get to the root of the matter, we knew it would take a lot of time. So, one of us started being friendly with a lot of female students and in the process some of them started giving the teacher access to their phones.
“They also showed the teacher WhatsApp messages and voice with the principal. The female students were close to the principal and we were able to get seven with evidence.
“From one of the messages we had, he (principal) even went to the house of one of the victims to sexually abuse her. But he mostly perpetrated the crime on the school premises.”
The teacher said the case was reported to the police but Prosper absconded after discovering about the internal investigation.
“When we confronted him with the allegations, he denied. But when we showed the facts, he admitted and promised to stop,”
Dr. Olatoun Adeola, the project director for RESTforHer, an organisation that fights sexual and gender-based violence, responded to the development by saying that when an instructor sexually abuses pupils, the action could have a significant impact on the victims’ physical and moral integrity.
“Since every person reacts to stimuli differently, the repercussions are distinct for every individual. Some bodily consequences could be immediately noticeable. The trauma of what they have gone through might cause emotional numbness and disassociation in sexual molestation victims.
