Mr. Paul Okpe, the Sector Commander, confirmed this in a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi, on Wednesday in Osogbo.
At about 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday night, a Toyota bus with the registration number FST925BX collided with a DAF 95XF Heavy Duty Truck with the registration number GMB344XX, according to Okpe.
According to him, the accident happened five kilometers from the Arakeji intersection and killed four people on the scene, all of whom were males.
“Twenty-one persons were involved in the accident which claimed four lives, while 15 victims sustained severe injuries and two others were unhurt,’’ he said.
The accident was caused by speeding and a violation of road traffic rules, according to the sector commander.
The injured victims were transferred to Wesley Guild Hospital for treatment, and the bodies of the deceased were deposited in the hospital’s morgue, according to him.
