Dapo Abiodun, the current governor, allegedly won the 2019 election by election manipulation, according to Senator Ibikunle Amosun, a former governor of Ogun State.

This was stated by Amosun on Friday in Abeokuta after collecting an award from the Abeokuta Club to mark the association’s 50th anniversary.
As you may recall, the former governor supported Adekunle Akinlade, who ran against Abiodun for the All Progressives Congress on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement.
Abiodun triumphed over Akinlade by a margin of 19,517 votes.
Abiodun received 241,670 votes, defeating Akinlade, who received 222,153.
Amosun said that the state’s 2019 governorship election had been rigged in the incumbent governor’s favor.
He continued by saying he had moved on because the people behind the rigging had expressed regret to him.
Amosun said, “During the last election, thank God, Chief Osoba is here, I have said it, we won convincingly. They rigged, rigged, and ended up with 19,000.
“Some of them came to apologise to me. I can be mentioning names. We won that election. But I have moved on.
“We did our work. We will continue to do what we have to do. God will be with all of us.”
In a later conversation with reporters, Amosun said he was against Abiodun’s administration and demanded that it be overthrown.
He also promised that the next course of action would be made public as soon as possible.
“Well, I am happy. When you are in a place and they are telling you that you have done the work of four or five governors altogether. I feel elated. I am happy that they appreciated our little efforts.
“Just wait, very soon, you will hear where we are going next. Clearly, you know my stand, and my stand is my stand. I am not supporting this administration that is there now. He must be removed,” he said.
