Kazeem Ali, a chieftain of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers, was abducted in Apomu, Osun State, and his wife claims his captors have stopped communicating with his family.
Jemila Ali, the victim’s wife, told newsmen over the phone on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 that it was impossible to reach the family at the previous phone number.
According to the Osun State Police Command, Ali was macheted by some thugs late on Saturday around Oke Alfa, Apomu, and was then transported by the attackers to an undisclosed place.
A source close to the NURTW boss’s family also claimed that his captors were demanding N15 million from his family in order to release him.
Jemila, however, claimed that “The number used to contact us was no longer connecting” in a telephone interview with newsmen.
We are unable to communicate with him (Ali) since they are not speaking to us.
