The Oyo State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalist has ordered members of the Union to boycott the media parley convened by Dr. Femi Fani-Kayode in the State.
The State Chairman of the Union, Demola Babalola, said this earlier today on Fresh 105.9 FM, Ibadan, noting that the directive is in solidarity with the profession which was debased by FFK.
Earlier, FFK had invited some selected journalists to attend a planned event at 11a.m today but members of the profession were restricted from honoring the invite by the State Chairman of NUJ.
The invite reads ” You are specially invited to a media parley with Femi Fani Kayode (FFK)
Venue – Chalton Gate Hotel, Ibadan.
Time – 11am
Note: strictly by invitation.”
Recall, the issue between FFK and the Union arouses as a result of the recent actions and insults rained on Daily Trust Media reporter Charles Eyo at a media briefing in Calabar, Cross River State.
In the same vein, journalists in Akwa Ibom State shunned a press gathering organized by FFK in solidarity with their colleagues in Cross River State.
