The Ekiti State House of Assembly on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 approved the nomination of seven Commissioners and seven Special Adviser sent for confirmation by the State Governor Kayode Fayemi.
The list of the nominees was read at the floor of the House while the motion for approval was moved by the Majority leader of the House Chief Gboyega Aribisogan, seconded by Mr. Deji Ajayi, representing Orun constituency.
The Commissioners confirmed during the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Funmilayo Afuye are: Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye (Ido/Osi), Alhaja Maryam Ogunlade (Emure), Chief Oladiran Adesua (Ekiti East), Mr Akin Omole (Oye Ekiti), Dr. Oyebanji Fulani (Ik ole), Olabode Adetoyi (Mona) and Mrs Iyabo Fakunle-Okhieme(Ilejemeje).
Also, Mr. Febisola Adewale was confirmed as Commissiomer, Ekiti Local Government Service Commission, Prof. Femi Akinwunmi as Chairman, Ekiti Universal Basic Education Board (ESUBEB).
Earlier before the approval of the nominees, series of questions which borders on individual capability and competency were asked by lawmakers at the plenary.
In his remark the speaker congratulated the nominees nothing that does listed for appointment were good, compitent and show a high level of commitments towards the development of the State.
He however call on the nominees to cooperate with the Governor to better the State and enhance the cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the Government.
