President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum N13 billion for the implementation of Community policing in the Country.
The fund which was aimed at rearranging the security structure and architecture in other to deliver a more effective policing in the Country.
The approval was contained in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande on Wednesday.
Earlier, the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting presided by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, urge “Governors, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Finance Minister and the Inspectator-General of Police (IGP) to work out modalities on how the funds would be well utilized to ensure an effective implementation of Community Policing in Nigeria, and then report back to NEC.
“Specifically, the Governors would be represented at this consultations by the Nigeria Governors’ forum Chairman and two others. There’s no relenting in effort to secure lives and property across Nigeria”.
