Following the industrial gas explosion in Ajao estate which led to the killing of over four persons, a member of House of Representatives, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson, has appealed to Lagos State Government to re-assess the approval to operators of fuel and gas in Lagos State.
Mr. Johnson who visited the scene of the explosion said that what happened was an opportunity for the State Government to look into the operation of gas marketers in particular and ensure they were no longer allowed to operate in built-up residential areas.
While condoling with the families of the deceased, the former Commissioner for Work and Infrastructure in Lagos State, stressed that urgent action must be taken to avoid recurrence.
Mr. Johnson also used the opportunity to send his Eid-el-Kabir greetings to members of the constituency, even as he charged constituents to be cautious in the period of celebration, considering the COVId-19 pandemic.
He said. “As you slaughter your rams, maintain social distancing and obey all safety protocols as advised by the Government. Ensure you wash their hands regularly. Use hand sanitizers, and maintain social and physical distancing.”
