Lagos State Government has reiterate its commitment towards providing a conducive and equitable working environment to officers in the state in other to discharge their duties diligently.
The Head of Service, Mr. Akeem Muri-Okunola stated this during the inauguration ceremony of service charter and office equipment given to officers in the education district II in Maryland, Lagos State.
Muri-Okunola commended the officers in the district for showing a high level of compliance to the guidelines on preventing the spread of corona virus.
The HOS explained that the essence of the service charter was to show that Lagos State is equal to the task and urge officers to treat citizens as customers.
“To charge our officers that to whom much is given, much is expected. Service Charter in Lagos is our own way of showing to Corporate Lagos that we are also equal to the task and to encourage our staff to treat our citizens as if it was a business, and they are our customers.”
“Am sure that with the equipment delivered today, which includes laptops and air conditioners will make the working environment more conducive and improve and energise themselves into optimal service delivery.”
In her contribution, the Tutor-General Permanent Secretary Education District 2, Mrs. Anike Adekanye commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his unrelenting effort in ensuring students are not missing out their academic activities.
She added that despite total shutdown of schools, Lagos State Government initiated online learning, and urge parents to adhere strictly to protocol on prevention of corona virus.
The inauguration of the charter was witnessed by Chairman Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Alawiye King, Permanent Secretaries and few others.
Iremide Jonathan
