An Illicit Storage Facility at 84/85 Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun has been sealed by Lagos State Government and handed over to security agent for investigation.
This followed an outbreak of fire at the location this morning.
The General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu in a statement said investigation revealed that illicit storage and handling of diesel on the open fenced land led to the outbreak.
Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu said the post disaster assessment revealed that there were seven plastic storage containers, twenty five drums, three storage tankers,and articulated tanker and six buses used for the illicit storage and transportation of diesel.
While saying that the situation has been brought under control, Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu urged residents to take responsibility with respect to life and property and report such instances to the authorities.
