Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Friday, July 10, 2020 inaugurated a 17 man State Community Policing Advisory Committee (SCPAC), chaired by the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdulrahman and the Chairman State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Lawrence Agubuzu, as co-chairman.
Speaking during the inauguration of the committee, the State Governor disclosed that the initiative was to improve on the security standard of the State through the collaboration among the NPF, Neighborhood Watch group, Forest Guards and other security agencies.
Ugwuanyi, added that the Enugu State Security Trust Fund law is enacted to create sustainability support for security agencies in the State.
“The deployment of our Automated Drone Surveillance Solution to give the needed impetus to our security surveillance is underway”.
It will be recalled that the Community Policing is an initiative of the Nigeria Police Force, communicated by the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Muhammed Adamu Abubarkar with the responsibility of deepening Community confidence, trust and manage mutual respect between the NPF and members of the public in the management of crimes and other related offences.
The inauguration was well attended by officers of the Nigeria Police, Tradional Leaders, Community leaders and other stakeholders in the State.
