Nigerians especially public office holders have been warned to refrain from using their position to influence employment into Government job.
The position of the President was made known in a statement by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who describe the act as “antithetical to the character of the administration”.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 stated that, the process of employment should be allowed to work for all by giving equally opportunity to participants without influence.
“This system should be allowed to work for all Nigerians without interference”
“The President repeated warning followed persistent report of fraudsters using the business cards and purported referral letters from presidential aids and other Government officials to solicit employment, contract and other favor”.
It will be recalled that the Minister of State for Labour, Employment and Productivity, Festus Keyamo was reportedly walked out by members of the National Assembly during an investigative hearing over the 774,000 jobs offer of the Federal Government.
