The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has announced that two flights will be restricted from taking off at the same terminal within the same time.
Managing Director of FAAN, Captain Rabiu Yadudu made the announcement while briefing newsmen at the weekend, said that the approach is introduced to ensure safety in the aviation sector, especially this period of COVID-19 pandemic.
Captain Yadudu added that the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority,NCAA have been informed of the plan.
He also gave the assurance that the directive will not disrupt airlines’ schedule but to ensure safety of travelers.
“We have already told NCAA of plans to space the flights. No two airlines will depart at the same time from our Airports.”
“The spacing is not to make things difficult for the airline operators, but to protect their staff and other users of our Airports”.
