Lagosians have been admonished to take responsibility of their health and that of their loved ones
against COVID-19, by observing all the preventive measures to curb the community transmission of the
virus.
The state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu who gave the advice at a media briefing on the COVID- 19 at
the state House, Marina, said the state government is working assiduously with the Nigeria Centre for
Disease Control, NCDC, to improve testing of suspected Coronavirus cases, to curb the community
transmission of the virus in Lagos.
While explaining that the wearing of face masks is still compulsory at all public places, the governor said
the State government will be distributing thousands of free face masks to residents through the council
areas from tomorrow.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who explained that with the Advent of Coronavirus, it can never be business as
usual across the world, frowned at the low level of compliance among transporters, especially the
Yellow buses on the reduction of passengers per trip.
While announcing that so far, three pregnant COVID-19 Positive patients have been delivered of their
babies safely across lsolation centers in Lagos, the governor said more Nigerian returnees from
Francophone countries through Seme border, have been placed under
Observation at two lsolation centers in Badagry.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also announced that the state government is increasing capacity and capability in
Primary Health care facilities to improve COVID- 19 response at the grassroots.
