Ten protestors from the #EndBadGovernance movement who were accused of trying to topple President Bola Tinubu between August 1 and August 4 of this year were each granted N10 million in bail by an Abuja Federal High Court. The defendants were also directed by the court to present one surety each who is based in Abuja and who must be willing to deposit three recent passport photos and their foreign passports with the court.
Judge Nwite denied the Inspector General of Police’s objections to the bail applications and instead ordered the defendants to be remanded in prison custody until their bail conditions were completed. The defendants were also forbidden from attending any public demonstrations while they were on trial.
