The index evaluates 199 different passports’ visa-free entry to 227 different vacation locations. If a passport holder can enter a specific country without a visa, it receives a score of 1.
In contrast, South Africa ranks 53rd in the world, allowing its passport holders to travel to 108 places without requiring a visa. The research states that holders of Nigerian passports are required to obtain visas for 181 destinations.
Nigeria’s passport ranks lower than those of its West African counterparts, with Ghana, Benin, and Togo coming in at 76th, 79th, and 83rd, respectively. Japan, which was ranked second earlier on the list, is now at the top, with its passport holders being able to enter 194 countries without a visa.
Japan is not alone in having the strongest passports in the world; Singapore, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain also hold strong passports.
