After the results from six of the state’s eight local government areas—Kolokuma/Opokuma, Ogbia, Yenegoa, Sagbama, Nembe, and Ekeremor—were collated, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) decided to postpone the ongoing collation of results until Monday at noon. Southern Ijaw and Brass are the local government districts that survive.
The process was deferred on Sunday night by Prof. Faruq Kuta, the state returning officer for the Bayelsa election and vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
