The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) claims that singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, alias MohBad, was not poisoned while under its custody, despite the controversy surrounding his death.
After Mohbad passed away last Tuesday under mysterious circumstances, a video of the 27-year-old artist sobbing on a hospital bed claimed he had been forced to drink something, tortured with a gun, and then told to go home. A few Nigerians claimed shortly after that the organisation had poisoned the artist during his alleged arrest and confinement.
The musician, according to NDLEA spokeswoman Femi Babafemi, was never held or arrested by the organisation. The deceased, he claimed, was not among the Marlian Music artists detained by the organisation in 2022.
The musician, according to NDLEA spokeswoman Femi Babafemi, was never held or arrested by the organisation. Contrary to popular belief, he asserted that the deceased was not one of the Marlian Music acts that the agency had detained in 2022, and that as a result, Mohbad could not have been poisoned while under their care.

Babafemi, who also provided a link on the arrest of six people—Oniyide Azeez (Zinoleesky), Owoeye Michael, Dominica Chinwe, Olaolohun Shubomi Mariam, Ibrahim Alawo, and Abimbola Ogbe—two females and four males—says: “This is an authentic account of the arrest and detention of some Malian artistes in Feb 2022, an incident that has now been twisted by purveyors of fake news to say Mohbad was poisoned or detained by the agency,” Babafemi tweeted.
“I hope, they’ll be bold enough to defend their claims when the hand of the law catches them.”
