Following Mmesoma Joy Ejikeme’s admission of falsification of her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, ordered that she be turned over to the State Guidance Counsellor for counselling.
In a statement signed by Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, the public relations representative for the Anambra State Ministry of Education, it was revealed that Governor Soludo had also ordered the start of Mmesoma’s psychological counselling and therapy sessions right away in a letter to the principal of the Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi.

In a letter to the Governor that was signed by Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, the Commissioner for Education, the Governor further ordered that Mmesoma be handed over to a professor of clinical psychology.
The letter stated, in part: “The directive is in line with one of the recommendations of the committee set up by the Anambra State government to investigate the matter, following the parading of the fake result which elicited interests and generated controversies and misgivings to the general public.”
