Lionel Messi might be the newest celebrity to relocate to the Middle East after the Saudi Arabian government offered the Argentine a $400 million contract to play in the Pro League of that nation.
According to the Telegraph, the agreement, which is being negotiated by Messi’s father, would be significantly more expensive than the more than $200 million contract Cristiano Ronaldo signed to play in Saudi Arabia until the summer of 2025.

The two-week suspension was imposed on the Argentine World Cup champion by his current club Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday for travelling to Saudi Arabia without authorization.
After the disciplinary action, Messi decided not to renew his contract with PSG, according to the BBC. He had previously agreed to a deal in principle to stay with the club.
The acquisition of Ronaldo is Saudi Arabia’s most recent attempt to revolutionise the world of professional sports; in addition, the nation has funded the LIV Golf League and purchased Premier League team Newcastle United with money from its sovereign wealth fund.
