Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari, Adamawa State’s resident electoral commissioner (REC), has been approved for immediate suspension from duty by President Muhammadu Buhari, pending the outcome of the Inspector General of Police’s investigation into the REC’s conduct and actions during the Supplementary election in Adamawa State.
The President also ordered the immediate investigation and possible prosecution of Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari by the Inspector General of Police, according to a statement by Willie Bassey, Director of Information for the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Similar to this, the President has ordered an investigation by the Inspector General of Police, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), and Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), of the role of their officers in encouraging and abetting Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari’s conduct and actions, and if found guilty, appropriate disciplinary actions to be taken against him
