The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for governor in the Imo State election on November 11 is Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who serves as the PDP’s national secretary.
This came after the PDP’s primary on Wednesday, which was conducted at the party’s state secretariat on Okigwe Road in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

In the 8th Senate, Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, represented Imo East constituency in Imo State. He made a run for Imo State governor in the 2019 elections, but Chukwuemeka Ihedioha defeated him.
The seven-member electoral panel appointed by the National Working Committee led by Kenneth Okon was present to observe the primary in Imo, according to the PDP’s state organising secretary, Lawrence Biado.
Anyanwu is anticipated to run against All Progressives Congress (APC) governor Hope Uzodimma who is seeking reelection.
