The Federal Government has chastised some western nations for endorsing the terrorist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), which is illegal.
Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, said it was hypocritical for the west to claim to be fighting terrorism but then turn around and support a terrorist group like IPOB during his official engagements with some international media organisations and policy institutes in Washington, DC.

The minister is in Washington to discuss the recently completed 2023 polls with foreign media outlets and think tanks.
Lai Mohammed urged the international media to refrain from repeating social media myths about Nigeria’s 2023 elections on their platforms. He advised them to be critical and question the information they receive on social media before sharing it on their networks.
“IPOB is a terrorist organisation so declared by the Nigeria Government, yet some western countries harbour them and have been dealing with the illegal body.
“They allow them to raise fund, some allow them to lobby their Congress men and lawmakers and whatever fund they realise they use it to destabilise the country,” the minister said.
