Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the party, has been immediately suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Executive Committee in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State for anti-party actions.
Vanger Dooyum, the secretary of the party in Igyorov ward, read a resolution in which he claimed that Iyorchia Ayu had been suspended for anti-party activities following a vote of no confidence and that his actions, along with those of his allies, had contributed to the PDP’s defeat in his ward and local government in the governorship election.

Ayu is also charged with failing to pay his yearly dues as required by the party constitution. The documentation approving his suspension were signed by 12 of the exco’s 17 members.
The PDP chieftain was accused of not casting a ballot in the gubernatorial and state assembly elections that were held on March 18, 2023, according to Kashi Philip, the ward chairman of Igyorov, who also signed the letter with the exco.
The majority of Ayu’s closest associates, according to the letter of suspension, worked for the opposition the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC), which contributed to the PDP’s appalling showing in the Igyorov Ward.
