In a ruling on Friday by the presiding judge, Justice Peter Lifu ruled that the electoral umpire to use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) to upload a scanned copy of the EC8A to INEC’s Result Viewing portal (IReV).
The judge also ordered the results must be uploaded immediately after the completion of voting in all polling units, adding that the results sheet should be pasted in each PU after voting in the state.
Also, Judge Lifu issued a mandamus order directing INEC to employ unbiased, competent, and trustworthy logistic companies that are not affiliated with any political party in order to carry out Section 27(1) of the Electoral Act 2022 in the distribution of election materials. As a result, the hearing date for the main issue was set for March 7, 2023.
