On Saturday, thugs interfered with the voting process in Elegushi, the Ikate neighbourhood of Lekki, and other areas of Lagos State.
An eyewitness reported seeing the thugs disperse the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officers’ setup on Saturday.

“Some thugs did not let us vote at my polling place here, close to the Oba Elegushi’s palace. They dispersed all around, telling us that we couldn’t vote here and that we could vote in Anambra instead.”
There were also rumours of disturbances in other parts of Lagos, including as Aguda, Ojo, and Oshodi. But, security personnel have arrived in the vicinity.
Idowu Owohunwa, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, said that there were “isolated incidences of thuggery” in select areas of Lagos and called the situation an admixture.
