After assessing presidential candidates in the country ahead of Saturday’s ballot, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has backed the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for the February 25 election.
The ADC announced the development on Monday at a press conference in Abuja attended by the ADC National Chairman, Raphael Nwosu, and LP leader and Obi’s righthand man, Pat Utomi, saying: “It is indeed our conviuction that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi and his running mate, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed will include good governance and accountability.”

Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, were reportedly absent from the ceremony since they were in Zaria, Kaduna State, for a rally.
The ADC, which is severely divided, has some members who support the party’s flag bearer, Dumebi Kachikwu, while other factions oppose his nomination.
