As the standard bearer for the Labour Party attends his final campaign rally in the state on Saturday, some of Peter Obi’s supporters have reported assaults by hoodlums in Lagos State.
As the supporters made their way to Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), the location of the gathering, they reportedly came under attack from people brandishing machetes and other weapons.

Videos and images posted on social media also included some people who appeared to be Obi’s followers with bruises, as well as vandalised automobiles and buses that were allegedly used to carry supporters to the party’s different events.
The attacks were attributed to one of the other main parties in the state and its presidential candidate.
“Obidients are bullies,” declared Rinu Oduala, an activist and supporter of Obi. But one party is presently attempting to stop the LP march in Lagos by funding thugs attacks with firearms and machetes. There isn’t enough discussion of the immorality of our “intellectuals and celebrities.”
Another tweeter, @anthonyabakporo, expressed sadness about the thugs’ attacks on the Obidients.
“They just did at Jakande, but we got them to TBS, and they’re getting treated,” someone said. In the event that you run into any problems, do let us know. Don’t let anything stand in your way! Please come! Added he.
