With a salary of at least £28,000 a year, the UK has attracted prospective Nigerian teachers who wish to immigrate beginning in February 2023.
The wage of non-UK citizens who want to teach in the UK will depend on their credentials and the region they are wanting to teach in, according to data on the UK government website (www.gov.uk).

Recall that the UK named Nigeria and a few other African nations in early December as suitable applicants who can apply for qualified teacher status through the UK’s Teaching Regulation Agency starting in February 2023.
Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Jamaica, Singapore, South Africa, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe are among the additional nations on the list.
Since the nation provides a training programme for future migrants, the applicants do not even need initial teaching qualifications.
The UK said that “all trained teachers will have a starting wage of at least £28,000” in the statistics for the compensations. When teaching in London, this will be higher. There will be a salary scale in place at your school for competent teachers. Every year, pay increases will be evaluated and will always be based on performance rather than length of service.
Giving a detailed breakdown of the pay range by region, the UK said that benefit teachers in inner London will be paid a minimum of £34,502 and a maximum of £44,756. Teachers throughout England, excluding London, will receive a minimum of £28,000 and a maximum of £38,810.
The UK government added, “You can be placed in the higher pay range for teachers if you can demonstrate excellence against all of the teaching standards. This honour is given to educators who consistently and significantly contribute to their school.
