In a special plenary session, the Legislative Council received the official budget documents for year 2023 from Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal, the executive chairman of the Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area.
According to the head of the council, the goal of the 2023 budget is to consistently improve the quality of life of all residents of the Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area.

He continued by saying that since taking office in 2017, his administration has made it a top priority to provide the people with the most basic social amenities. He then went over the initiatives that have been completed thus far and those that are planned, including the ongoing repair of deteriorating roads that is 80% done.
Meanwhile, as part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents and commuters within the Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area during the Yuletide season and beyond, the Councill boss presented three mobile patrol bikes to each of the LCDA’s three police divisions: Onikan, Ikoyi, and Dolphin.
The Chairman stated that the three mobile patrol bikes are outfitted with all the equipment required to help prevent criminal activity, maintain public order, and identify potentially dangerous situations, complementing the local council’s 24-hour emergency hotline at 0708080000 and enhancing response times.
The council management, lawmakers, and major critical stakeholders were present at the special intervention event along with CPS Francis Oyeyemi, the divisional police officer at Dolphin Police Station, CPS Akinsola Ogunwale, the divisional police officer at Onikan, Mr. Olaitan Ishola, the divisional police officer at Ikoyi Police Station, as well as other members of the public.
