Emiliano Martinez, the Argentine goalkeeper who won the World Cup, continued his vicious teasing of defeated competitor Kylian Mbappe by holding a doll with a likeness of the French striker’s face on it on Tuesday at a triumph parade.
The Argentinian players were travelling through the congested streets of Buenos Aires in an open-top bus when Martinez clutched the doll in his arms and raised it in the air.
Standing next to Mbappe’s Paris Saint-Germain teammate Lionel Messi, the shirtless shot-stopper made fun of the young striker.
Messi was previously spotted catching what appeared to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle doll that a fan had thrown at him. The Argentine skipper chuckled and then threw it away.

Mbappe has been compared to characters from the well-known animated series, a comparison that he and his teammates have previously made fun of.
The jab Martinez made at Mbappe with the baby doll is his second in recent days.
Martinez requested his players to observe a fictitious “minute of quiet” for Mbappe in the dressing room following the World Cup final at Qatar’s Lusail Stadium.
The argument appears to have started over statements made by Mbappe prior to the tournament in Qatar, in which he said that since European countries play more “high-level matches,” they will be better prepared.
Goalkeeper Martinez of Aston Villa responded, claiming, “He never played in South America. If you don’t have this experience, it might be best to avoid discussing it. But it makes no difference. We are well-known for being a fantastic team.
Some supporters thought Martinez’s taunting was excessive, calling it “shameless” and pointing out that Mbappe had beaten him four times in the final, including in the shootout.
Mbappe, on the other hand, celebrated his 24th birthday on Tuesday in less cheery circumstances after France, despite his hat-trick in the championship game, failed to defend their crown.
The superstar tied the score at 2-2 with a stunning late brace, then made it 3-3 in overtime with a second penalty-kick goal.
As a result, Mbappe became just the second player since 1966 to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final.
The attacker converted his attempt in the shootout, but France’s hopes were dashed when Martinez denied Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni after the Argentine goalie played mind games with him.
The 30-year-old Martinez had also produced a stunning save in the last seconds of extra time when he stopped Randal Kolo Muani with an extended left leg.
Martinez received the Golden Glove award for being the best goalie in the competition, which only added to the commotion when he made a lewd gesture with the trophy.
However, he did receive accolades for going above and beyond to comfort Golden Boot winner Mbappe on the field at the Lusail Stadium following the game.
On Tuesday, millions of people flooded the streets of Buenos Aires for Argentina’s victory parade. The team was forced to divert from their bus route and instead flew above the city while being evacuated on helicopters.
