Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia has reinstated as a Federal High Court judge, thanks to the National Judicial Council (NJC). Right away, the reinstatement is in force.
The Federal High Court Chief Judge, Justice John Tsoho, allegedly made a circular dated December 5, 2022, available to press men, informing all judges of the court of this decision.

It says on the circular: “Your Lordships are by this Circular letter notified that at the Meeting of the National Judicial Council held on the 1st of December, 2022, the Council reinstated the Hon. Justice R. N. Ofili-Ajumogobia as a Judicial Officer.”
“The reinstatement takes instant effect and there shall be consequential posting.”
The message also included copies for the Chief Registrar of the Court, the Director of the Library, and the Deputy Director of Finance and Accounts.
Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia was charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with money laundering and violation of public trust in November 2016.
All of the accusations against her, however, have been annulled and dismissed by the courts.
