Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for president, said that the conflict roiling the opposition party will soon be resolved.
Speaking to media on Saturday, November 26, 2023 in Lagos, Atiku said he was extremely hopeful that the aggrieved governors will support his victory in the 2023 presidential primary election as talks with the PDP G5 governors and other disgruntled party leaders were ongoing.
Following his roundtable conversation with Nigeria’s creative cultural and inventive professionals, the PDP presidential candidate made these remarks.
If elected in the general election of 2023, Atiku promised to help the sector with the necessary incentives during his speech at the event.

If given the right assistance, the sector, in his opinion, has the potential to drastically reduce the unemployment rate and produce significant economic growth for the nation.
In terms of generating jobs and income, he compared the sector to agriculture, but he also observed that it has not received the required backing from the government, which has hampered its development.
Recalls that the PDP leadership and the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, have been at odds ever since the party’s presidential primaries were held many months ago.
The PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, is under pressure from the G5 governors, now called as the Integrity Group, who also want his successor to come from the South.
