The agitator for the Yoruba people, Sunday Igboho, reassured his supporters that the movement to actualize the Oodua Republic was still on track, emphasising that he has not given up on the agitation.
The self-described freedom fighter left Nigeria for Cotonou, Benin Republic, around 15 months ago after the Department of State Services broke into his home. The DSS announced that he will soon return to Nigeria and emphasised that the time for Yoruba nation has come.
But the freedom fighter resolved to see to it that Yoruba nation was actually realised.
At Bishop Ajayi Crowther’s annual posthumous birthday celebration in Ibadan, Oyo State, Igboho offered the guarantee.
Igboho, speaking on the zoom platform, said: “By God’s grace, the Fulani herdsmen’s activities against our people will end in our land. I appreciate you everyone for your support since the beginning of this just cause. The Yoruba nation will soon be established and will be superior to all other nations.
“Don’t give up hope, Yoruba people who care deeply about their homeland around the world, is my message. I am very certain that we are moving toward freedom. An notion that is stirring up our irritation has matured. Soon, I’ll return to Yorubaland.
