Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, reportedly had his convoy attacked on Wednesday in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
The vehicles in Atiku’s convoy at Ramat Square in Maiduguri, the state capital, were destroyed by thugs who are alleged to have fired gunshots in Maiduguri, sending PDP supporters fleeing in various directions.

Senator Dino Malaye, the Atiku Campaign’s spokesman, bemoaned the fact that more than 70 individuals were taken to hospitals and attributed the attack to Borno’s ruling party.
“They wanted to prevent us from holding the campaign, as we speak, 74 people were injured and hospitalized.
“APC thugs vandalized several vehicles,” Melaye reportedly said.
