Nigerians have been urged by the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Organization to oppose any attempt to make politics a family and friend affair.
The group urged Nigerians to reject those who wanted to govern the nation indirectly.

The Obi-Datti Campaign was in response to Festus Keyamo, Minister of State for Labour, who had challenged Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party to organise a campaign rally in his state like his father, APC flag bearer Seyi Tinubu, did in Lagos.
The LP Campaign claimed that the only similarity between Obi and Tinubu is that both of them have held the office of governor of a state in Nigeria. “After that one became a parasite to the state government, he served with his entire family while the other left government house and he and any members of his family never collected a dime from Anambra state,” the LP Campaign said of the former governor who served with his entire family.
“Unlike Tinubu and his household who have grown to be stupendously wealthy with no recognisable industry or methods of producing money outside the state government for over two decades,” the campaign claimed in a statement released in Abuja. “Obi is not like that.”
“If Keyamo had taken time to study the family he speaks for very well, he would have avoided this analogy that is bound to expose the parasitic existence of his Principal and understood why the entire household is plunging into the campaign,” the campaign team argued.
The Obi-Datti Media office stated that Peter Obi, and not any other member of his family, is the person seeking the Nigerian people’s approval to serve as President. He has emphasised time and time again that Nigerians must reject anyone wishing to serve as President by proxy.
“The other time Tinubu’s wife, Senator Remi, was threatening fire and brimstone over Lagos, then the daughter and now the son is showing off with rally. Do you blame a people struggling to keep a family business? The Tinubu family have cornered the commonwealth of Lagos state which they now run as a family enterprise.
“Obi’s family is not part of his politics, they are running their lives, contributing to development without nearing public funds.”
