The mass hiring of 12,000 employees from a variety of cadres into the Osun State Civil Service has been ruled void by the PDP chapter in Osun State.
The party declared that the Adeleke administration will annul all recent “illegal and ill-intentioned appointments” made by the outgoing administration as soon as Senator Ademola Adeleke, the incoming governor, assumes office on November 27, 2022. This is because the employment was allegedly completed after the July 16 governorship elections.
All significant appointments, including those for the Iree and Esa Oke Polytechnics and the recent “criminal appointment” of the new Project Coordinator for the World Bank-sponsored Rural Access and Agricultural Mobility Agency project, would be swiftly reversed, according to a statement released on Friday by the state Caretaker Chairman, Dr. Akindele Adekunle.
This is because, in his opinion, they were done in violation of the regulatory procedure controlling the crucial rural development project as well as the enabling legislation of the institutions.

The PDP stated in a statement regarding employment that the outgoing administration has employed more than 12, 000 individuals across several cadres since the July 16 elections.
The party also stated that the “illegal sacking” of the current project coordinator, whose appointment was advertised, was about to cost the Osun State the $150 million Rural Access and Agricultural Mobility Agency. It was noted that proper selection was supervised by World Bank officials led by the National Coordinator in the year 2020.
Additionally, he sternly warned financial institutions and accountants not to approve last-minute capital transfers.
The state PDP also urged financial institutions’ attention to the need to avoid collusion and criminal cooperation and noted that a significant amount of funds were going out of the state treasury within the state government.
“We have been warning members of the public not to engage in such bankrupting agenda. We had also issued several statements declaring such employment exercise a nullity.
“Any employment conducted in the last several weeks will not stand and will not enter the state payroll. We are in the know that the majority of those employed against due process are members of the APC purposely designed to weaken the financial base of the state.
“Our administration will not hesitate to sack all those illegally employed by Mr Oyetola in his last days in office”, the party affirmed.
“We also want to put on records that the outgoing administration has employed over 12,000 workers of various cadres since the July 16 elections.”
