Following a heart attack, Funminiyi Afuye, the speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, passed away.
Rt. Hon. Afuye passed away on Wednesday night at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, where he was being treated for a cardiac arrest, according to a statement from Yinka Oyebode, the governor’s chief press secretary.
“The late Afuye, 66, served as a member of the State Assembly twice and was a former commissioner of the Ekiti State Ministry of Information. On June 6, 2019, he was installed as Speaker of the sixth Assembly.
