If elected in 2023, PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar says he will work to make the Igbo presidency a reality.
At a PDP South-East zone stakeholders meeting on Tuesday in Enugu, Alhaji Abubakar asked, “Why do you believe I won’t give Igbos a fair chance to run the country after my stint as president.”
The former vice president said, “I did it in 2019 when I introduced Obi and a second Obi in 2011, and for 2023 I chose Ifeanyi Okowa, another Igbo man, as my running partner, even when Ohaneze stated no Igbo should fight for president under the PDP.
“My brothers and sisters, I no longer call you as ladies and gentlemen but rather brothers and sisters, it is apparent that you cannot fail to understand my love for the Igbo people,” Alhaji Abubakar continued.

The PDP candidate said that at various points in time, he has backed candidates for president from the South West, the North West, and the South East.
According to him, the nation must be made appealing in order to keep people there and encourage them to pay their fair share to its growth.
If elected, Alhaji Abubakar’s administration, he claimed, would create a high-quality healthcare system and give young people the skills and knowledge needed for a contemporary economy.
