The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has expressed his admiration for Labour Party presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi for emphasising youth development in his agenda.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 by the Ooni’s spokesperson, the monarch emphasised the importance of youth development and capacity building when hosting the former governor of Anambra State at his palace in Ile-Ife, Osun state.
“Right from my first day as the Ooni, I publicly dedicated this throne to the youth population, and I have been following through on the promise with programmes and other efforts aimed at empowering our youth since they are our future.
“I’m delighted you recognise it, and I pray that God Almighty gives you the aspirations of your heart.” said the Ooni.

After thanking the Ooni for the warm welcome, Mr. Peter Obi advised the electorates to look behind religious and ethnic emotions while choosing the country’s new leaders in 2023.
Obi, who bemoaned the situation of the country at the moment, urged Nigerians to vote for the proper set of leaders in order to secure a better future for themselves.
“To the Nigerian youths, it is now your turn to take this country from them, choose the right leader that would take the country to his promised Land. your title, Nobody is entitled to take it from you, if they give you money, take it, they are only paying parts of their debt.”
“Nobody should vote for me because am an Ibo man, south easterner or because of my religion. There is no tribe where people are eating free food, buying bread cheaper or exempted from the excruciating hardship currently being experienced in the land.” The Presidential candidate said.
