The governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, advises young people who took part in the #EndSARS protests to support Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, when they cast their ballots the following year (APC).
In an interview with Channels Television on Monday, September 19, 2022; Bello stated that he would rally the youths behind Tinubu because only he is capable of addressing the many problems the nation is currently facing.
The Kogi governor said that his selection as the Tinubu-Shettima presidential campaign council’s national youth coordinator was based on Kogi state’s performance.
The Kogi governor continued by saying that he will educate the #EndSARS demonstrators on the need to support Tinubu in the general election in 2023.

“Participating politically in the choice of who becomes a candidate in the various political parties was the first place where the #EndSARS protesters could have let out their frustration. That is the top priority, Bello stated.
“Voting during an election and the electoral process is fundamentally different from street protests and agitations. You may recall that I was the first governor to support the #EndSARS campaign.
“Three times, I addressed the #EndSARS protesters at that time and they listened to me, especially those who reared their heads in Kogi state as at that time.
“Even after the #EndSARS protest, I had the opportunity of meeting with some of the #EndSARS leaders and I told them exactly where they got it wrong.

“I am equally going to tell, sensitise and educate them about where they are headed or how they will get it wrong if they don’t follow the right way, and the right way is to vote senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who will come and display his prowess in solving the problems we are being confronted with.”
Before being taken over by criminals, the 2020 #EndSARS protests, which were against police brutality, consisted of a number of nationwide demonstrations that lasted days.
The Nigeria Police Force’s (NPF) special anti-robbery squad (SARS) was also disbanded as a result of the protests, and state-level judicial panels to look into instances of police violence were established.
