In order to represent Nigeria at the state burial for the late Queen Elizabeth II, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo left Abuja on Saturday, September 17, 2022 for London, United Kingdom.
In a statement, Osinbajo’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande, said the vice president would attend a number of ceremonies planned for the funeral along with members of the Royal Family and other world leaders.

Foreign royal families, Heads of State, Governors-General, Prime Ministers, and members of the Commonwealth will attend the events, including the funeral service that will take place on Monday at Westminster Abbey.
The vice president will be among the guests and dignitaries who King Charles ll and Queen Consort Camilla will meet on Sunday at a reception in Buckingham Palace before the service.
Osinbajo would meet privately with James Cleverly, the UK’s foreign secretary, earlier on that day.
The longest-reigning British monarch and Head of the Commonwealth was Queen Elizabeth II. On September 08, 2022 at Scotland’s Balmoral Castle, she passed away at the age of 96.
After the state funeral on Monday, the vice president will depart for Nigeria.
